On my last “Zoom with Me” we acknowledged Domestic Violence Awareness Month. We defined it, gave statistics about it, and even had a survivor share her personal story. As I reflect on that “Zoom with Me”, I can’t help but reminisce on the journeys you’ve shared with me. Journeys of SURVIVAL! At some point in life, ALL butterflies experience storms. Whether it’s the storm of an unhealthy relationship, a divorce, a loss, sickness, or your own mind thieves - we have ALL been through storms! Despite the storm, YOU SURVIVED!
How do I know you are a SURVIVOR? Not because of what you survived, but because you are still FLYING IN SPITE OF! IT DIDN’T BREAK YOU!! You still choose every morning to wake up and SPREAD YOUR WINGS! Even when those wings felt heavy, you pulled yourself up. Even when those wings were bruised, you pushed past the pain. John 16:33 tells us that “In this world, you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.” Butterflies, we are OVERCOMERS!!
Butterflies are equipped to handle storms. Their tiny legs and tiny feet are capable of a surprisingly strong grip. Yes! The storm was difficult, and sometimes even scary! I know there were even times you thought it would NEVER end but you still managed to GET A GRIP and hang on for dear life.
So many have gone through what you’ve been through and have died, whether physically or spiritually. But WOW look at you now! Living the life of a SURVIVOR!
Some of the most beautiful rainbows occur after a storm! The rainbow doesn’t mean the storm didn’t happen, it means that something beautiful has appeared after the storm. Walk in and embrace your beauty- SURVIVORS! Let us see your SHINE!!
Until we blog again,
